Birth Doula
I have played an active role in the nurturing and development of British
Columbian children for over 12 years. As a professional working in the Early Child Care Education industry, my experience working with families and the community inspired me before taking on what I would describe as the most important role of my life: being a mother to my two children, Micah and Amielia. Using a midwife and doula for both my pregnancies, I felt an immediate connection to these institutions of healthy and natural pregnancy and childbirth. A certified Doula, I am able to use my knowledge, training, and experience to provide emotional and physical support to mothers and fathers-to-be. The support of a Doula during pregnancy and childbirth allows you the best chance at creating positive memories that will last a lifetime. I
am fully committed to making each birth a wonderful experience-working to reassure you and your partner during labour through the suggestions of comfort measures and techniques, reassurance, and support. In no way does the presence of a Doula replace the support of a partner, instead my presence allows your partner to participate and be involved during this exciting time. No question or concern is too small, and with each birth I attend, I am so excited to be a part of an experience that will forever be a changing event in your life.

Birth Doula
My wish for you is to choose the perfect doula for your
expectant family. I will give you a glimpse into my life and see if you feel I
am a fit. After a trying but amazing pregnancy and delivery I became a mother
to a healthy baby girl named Luca Capri in 2010. Now, as a single mom, I have
realized what is my calling is. I have a deep undivided love and passion for
woman and babies, always have. When I heard what the role of a birth doula does
I said “WOW, I was absolutely positively made to do this.” The summer after Luca
was born I completed my Dona certified birthing from within
workshop in Tofino, BC. This experience was the beginning of the rest of my life
as a Doula.
Being pregnant can be a scary, daunting, uphill battle with an
overload of information. I am hear to help you through this
process. Listen, love, and laugh with you while you wait for the single most
amazing day of your life. Once that day arrives I am here to support you, and
your partner and help you recognize the strength that you never knew you
had.

Postpartum Doula
As a mother myself, I can certainly appreciate that the transition to parenthood is an awesome time-where the challenges are constantly changing. I would be honored to assist your family during this delicate time. A certified Postpartum Doula, I have worked with families in a supportive role for 20 years. My hope is that I can work with your family to help make this time as beautiful and special as possible. In my role as a Postpartum Doula, I like to think of myself falling somewhere between being a granny and a girlfriend. Although I am neither a nanny nor a nurse, I will nurture you and your family to the best of my ability. My job is to do whatever is needed for a mother and father to best enjoy and care for their new baby. Though I primarily provide mother and baby care such as breast-feeding support, assistance with bathing, changing, and the other skills you need to care for your new bundle of joy; also offered is assistance with light housekeeping, sibling care, simple meal preparations, and referrals to postnatal resources and programs. I hope to be a positive effect on your family by listening, supporting, and encouraging you during this exciting time with a new baby.
